Bordadoras embroider on the traditional manta cloth of Mexico with origins dating back to the Aztec empire. Used to wrap food for one's family, as a centerpiece for the table, a devotional cloth for the altar, or art for the wall.

Friends of Artisans Beyond Borders source supplies, teachers, and funds to keep reparative trauma-informed, healing-centered arts and activities available at the border.

Hand-woven textiles lend meditative calm and beauty to life in a shelter. Guests create small mug rugs and bookmarks for their families to keep or to sell.
